Arizona Immigration Law: Result Of Momentum Built Over Years

The new tough immigration law passed in Arizona surprised everyone, but for Arizona it was no surprise because the momentum for a law against illegal immigration was building up in the state for the last 10 years.

People living in Arizona have repeatedly expressed their frustration over the lack of action from the federal government to control illegal immigration and rising crime in Arizona.

Voters have fully supported the Arizona government decision to introduce immigration laws such as requiring ID at the polls and detaining people who fails to produce documents proving they are in the U.S. legally.

Conservative state political candidates are strongly supporting a stand on imposing  tough illegal immigration law. Those politicians, led by Mesa Sen. Russell Pearce, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and former Maricopa County Attorney Andrew Thomas, have already passed new laws to tighten the illegal immigrants rules.
