The Samsung Galaxy tablet is here to compete with Apple’s iPad. Tab is Samsung’s first tablet device. Nearly half in size as compared to Apple’s iPad, the Galaxy Tab has a perfect 7-inch display screen with a pixel resolution of 1024-by-600 .Weighing a mere 13.8 ounces, the Tab is bound to become a trendy computer apps device amongst the young professional crowd.
With a keyboard which looks relatively similar to the iPad, the typing experience is also good enough. The user interface, however, does not impresses with a large number of newly added features. Little alterations have been rendered to the desktop, the widgets, the status bar and the applications tray. But the calendar, e-mail and music applications do look a bit more exciting and worthy of usage.
PressDisplay for news, Kobo for e-books, and Zinio for magazines are the 3 applications which Samsung has licensed and incorporated into the Galaxy Tab for e-reading experience. However, Zinio, seems good for an iPad only as on the Tab its pixelating if you zoom in for larger display.
Then in the list comes the Android Market app store. Softwares can be downloaded through this, but they will run adjusted according to the Tab’s resolution only.
HD video-support, Bluetooth, Cortex A8 1.0GHz application processor, 3.0 mega-pixel rear-facing and 1.3 mega-pixel front-facing cameras are a few more characteristics of this device. It also has microSD slots for expanding memory.
In next to no time, we presume to know whether the new Samsung Galaxy Tab is here to stay or not and does it has the capability to catch up with other very much similar rival products.
