T-Mobile G2 Vs Droid X Vs iPhone 4: T-mobile has come up with its own android smartphone now and this makes the competition tougher than before. Major carriers AT&T and Verizon are already established names in the segment with the iPhone 4 and the Droid X. The arrival of the G2 at such a moment makes for interesting observation.

But T-mobile really has their work cut out and it’s not going to be easy to break in to such a demanding market. However, it will soon be clear how the G2 and T-mobile fare in the proceedings. Pre-existing subscribers can pre order the handset already and that pre-order lasts till the 4th of October. A T-mobile contract gets the phone for $200. Come the 6th, you will also find an unlocked version at half a grand.

The features offered by the G2 are good enough to encourage buyers. It is more or less equivalent to the other high end smartphones in the market. It runs on the froyo, the android’s upgraded 2.2 version that has long been hyped at Verizon quarters owing to the Droid X.

It also has a QWERTY keypad which is a one better feature when compared to the rest. The Qualcomm chip processing the phone delivers 800MHz. The screen is a little smaller at 3.7inches but then you have the keypad that others don’t. it has a camera integrated with 5 mega pixel resolution.

Another reason that makes investing in smartphones with T-mobile a smart choice is HSPA+. They claim to get to speeds of over 14Mbps. That is truly the kind of speed you want from your network to optimize the performance of your smartphone – the G2 in this case.

The only shortcoming that may be noted is the absence is a camera facing the front. This means that you have to compromise the video chat facility to the availability of great speeds and an enhanced web browsing experience. In all if you want to be on T-mobile and get all the fab features, you have to bet on the G2.
